At the moment, the blog opens up in the space below with the post buttons still in the row up top. This does not look good and is awkward. Even when set to open in a new tab, the page only duplicates. Currently it is not possible to open a blog post with nothing else on the page.

Gluten-Free Students & Teacher Communication

September 17, 20231 min read

Communicating with your child’s teachers is extremely important. If you child is gluten-free or has other dietary restrictions it is even more crucial that your have a good dialogue with people who are with your child all day.

The beginning of the school year is a hectic time for teachers.

Teachers have a major task of learning about each student in the class at the beginning of each school year. Providing your child's teacher with written information about their gluten-free diet will allow the teacher the chance to comprehend this essential dietary requirement.

Once your child's teacher has had a chance to read the information, a face-to-face follow up meeting is suggested to clear up any questions or misconceptions.

Sample letters

We have provided sample letters to help you to open the communication with your teacher. This letter provides the teacher(s) with a brief introduction to your child’s needs and highlights some basics that are important for them to know when spending the day with your student. More importantly, it helps to proactively start the conversation, hopefully provides you with some peace of mind that your child’s needs are understood, and allows you to concentrate on other things such as what to pack for lunch and helping with homework.

Download the sample letters and either fill in the blanks or use it to base your own communication to the teacher.
