Nima Sensor!

If you have celiac disease, a little bit of gluten can make you feel awful. Finding out if a food is safe is important!

Let me walk you through how it works. The Nima sensor is a small, triangular machine that requires charging. Along with the sensor, you'll need Nima capsules for each test. These capsules are not reusable, so you'll need a new one for every test you conduct.

To use the Nima sensor, simply open up a capsule, place a small sample of food inside, close it up, and insert it into the sensor. Then, press the start button. The device mixes the food with a special medium designed to detect and bind to gluten. It then uses a laser to analyze the mixture for any traces of gluten.

Now, where can you get one? While I obtained mine in the USA, Nima sensors are available for purchase from NimaPartners.com. Keep in mind that each test requires its own capsule, which can add up in cost. Typically, capsules come in boxes of six. A well chosen test can provide valuable insights into gluten content.

At Gluten Free Singapore, we often share Nima test results in our blogs and videos, offering firsthand experiences with various products. While we hope for advancements in gluten detection technology in the future, the Nima sensor remains one of our most reliable tools.
